read to ride Poster

The Williamsburg County Libraries announce Read to Ride 2024 began at the libraries on April 1.

When children aged three to 18 check out 10 books at one time, or when they receive their first library card they receive a chance to win a bicycle at the end the program on May 24.

This program is funded entirely by private donations from caring and generous community partners, interested in promoting healthy learning habits and healthy exercise habits for our community children. A cumulative 10-year total of 17,605 books have been checked out by children during the annual Read to Ride program.

That is a lot of books! In 2023 participating children won 39 bicycles. That’s a lot of bicycles! That’s a lot of trips to the libraries by children and their parents!
