I don’t know how you get interested in things. Some things just come before and spur your interest. You might be riding down the road and see an interesting sight. Sometimes a friend will show you something that you have never seen before. A road sign can set you on a path of discovery that could end up who knows where. It might be just luck or it might be a trip of discovery that you end up at a mystical magical place that is just plain fun. Excitement city we have arrived!!!

I like to watch wrestling on television. Actually, I’m more interested in older wrestling shows. Guys like Ric Flair, Black Jack Mulligan, Greg Valentine, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ole and Arn Anderson are my type of heroes in the wrestling business. Of Course, they are the old guys now. Still, I love the industry and all the excitement and drama that go along with it. Watching it is fun and action packed and all those things make the wrestling business still popular.

My son is planning a trip to Japan. He has been researching this trip for several years. Don’t know how he got Japan into his travel plans but he will be headed there soon. He has an itinerary lined up to see all sorts of museums, sights and sumo wrestling. He keeps up with some of the sumo wrestlers and their rankings and stuff. It is similar to keeping up with your favorite team over here. There are rankings and tournaments and people have favorite players, wrestlers, and teams. Sports take on all forms and fashions.

Just as I have favorite wrestlers here; he has favorite sumo wrestlers that he hopes to watch when he gets to Japan. He was explaining how he watched sumo tournaments streaming online and learning more and more about sumo. It’s wild the amount of time, money, resources spent on sumo in Japan. Just like any sport, you can get as wrapped up as much as you want.

I asked what he was planning to look at during the sumo tournament he plans to attend. He has been following the sport for a couple of years. He knows different things about the sport but he knows he will be pulling for his favorite wrestler.

Wakatakakage Asushi is his favorite wrestler just because the name is so much fun to say. Just try to say Wakatakakage three times in a row. See what I mean that is fun. Wakatakakage is for Fukashima, Japan. He’s 29 years old and weighs 291 pounds. He has two brothers that are also sumo wrestlers. Wakatakamoto and Wakamotoharu are his brothers. I’m excited just to hear about these matches just because they sound like fun. The more you say the names the more fun you can have.

Maybe the only thing that could be more fun would be bringing the brothers over to the US for an exhibition match. I have the perfect place for it. Winnemucca, Nevada is a place that the more you say it the funnier it is.

When I heard about the sumos I immediately called my friend to tell the names and he said we need them to come to Winnemucca. Well, you know what happened. We just kept laughing and trying to say the names and the destination of the greatest sumo exhibition to come to the US.

I bet it would almost be as good as seeing Harley Race and Ric Flair fight for the Heavyweight Championship at Sumter.

If this can work, I’m practicing up to make the ring announcement. “Welcome to Winnemucca, Nevada for a match between Wakatakakage and Wakamotoharu.” Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha.

Since “Challengers” begins practically at the end of its story, I think I’ll begin this review by talking about the movie’s ending. It ends, as we see in early scenes and is pretty predictable anyway, with feuding tennis stars Art (Mike Faist) and Patrick (Josh O’Connor) playing against each… Read more“Challengers”
